Friendly, Family 4X4 Fun

Formed in 2001 the aims of AMOR were to offer a friendly, family atmosphere which allowed owners of shiny 4X4 vehicles to combine off-roading with family outings.

The Club arranges at least 1 event a month with a fair proportion of them being camping weekends for the whole family to enjoy.

The ethos of The Club is to provide non-damaging off-road environments at safe, private off road sites so that all family members, from 14 years old, can drive on a regular basis. These events are suitable for all vehicles from the brand new shiny, showroom condition Freelander to the less well presented 1980 Suzuki SJ. They are GUARANTEED NON-DAMAGING.

The Club recognizes that some members will be less concerned about light damage and interested in more arduous activities. We cater for these as well at our off-road events with more extreme areas available alongside the safe course.

Although non-competitive we will often arrange 4x4 skills trials for all to enjoy – particularly embarrassing when the 14 year old beats the old man every time!

In addition to using off-road sites we also organize regular green lane trips for small groups of vehicles.

The UK is covered by a network of tracks and byways which are open for vehicular use – despite the Government trying to close them all ! – and are ideally suited to 4x4 use. These meetings can be anywhere in the Country and can be for just a day or an entire weekend complete with camping.

What do we mean by camping? Caravan, tent, trailer tent, motor home. The sites we book for general events all have running water and toilet facilities and sometimes luxuries such as electric hook-up for the caravaners and showers for all. That said we always aim to keep costs as low as possible and generally try to get within £5-£10 per night. Again, THE WHOLE FAMILY is welcome.

The emphasis of The Club is 4X4 FUN in a safe environment. We do have rules, but they are for the safety of all not regulation for the sake of it.
